The consultation paper on Building Control has now been released and individuals are invited to attend meeting at Austin Court, Birmingham, England, on Thursday 10th April 2008. This one day conference will give delegates the unique opportunity to voice their opinion on sections of the paper. Delegates will be able to vote electronically on the options, as well as being given the opportunity to question the experts.
The government is proposing major changes to the way that Building Regulations are enforced. These changes will affect everyone involved in house building- builders and developers, architects and designers, technical directors and managers, construction professionals, specialist consultants, surveyors, building control surveyors, building engineers, construction product suppliers and manufacturers, to mention a few.
This conference sets out the reasons why change is thought to be necessary, why the current system doesn’t appear to be working properly and what improvements the government would like to see.
