Fairview New Homes launches the long-anticipated The King’s Tower apartments at the Queensgate development in Croydon, Greater London. There are just 12 luxury two-bedroom apartments available to buy in the Grade II listed tower, part of the former Queen’s Hospital. Since its construction in 1866, the hospital has been a distinctive landmark in the centre of Croydon.

Each spacious apartment at The King’s Tower has a contemporary interior specification whilst retaining the building’s unique historical character.

Jim Holliday, Sales Director of Fairview New Homes, comments: “The King’s Tower is the exciting final phase of Queensgate and has the only converted apartments on the development. As there are only 12 of these apartments for sale, we are expecting them to go quickly. Any interested buyers should contact our selling agent, Streets Ahead, as soon as possible for more information.”

Croydon is currently experiencing one of the most dynamic regeneration schemes in the UK. At present, some £3.5bn has been committed to redeveloping the area, earning it the title of London’s Third City. As part of Transport for London’s £10bn Investment Programme, the East London line is also being extended. Phase 1 from West Croydon to Dalston and Highbury & Islington has now been completed, and in 2012 Phase 2 will extend to Clapham Junction.

“Croydon’s ongoing development and improving transport links to central London has strengthened its appeal to commuters. With trains from East Croydon Station to London Victoria in just 16 minutes, The King’s Tower is perfectly situated for a central London worker. Improved commutability is already having an upward effect on property prices and thus the window of opportunity to buy at competitive prices is closing,” Mr Holliday adds.

The King’s Tower overlooks its own landscaped grounds within the Queensgate development, which lies in a desirable residential area in the heart of Croydon. The apartments are under a 10 minute walk to Selhurst Railway station and a five minute drive from both West Norwood and West Croydon tube stations (London Overground and Tram network).

The social scene in Croydon is very popular and there are a growing number of city-style restaurants, wine bars, cafes and traditional pubs. The shopping opportunities are also extensive, with over 140 stores in the Whitgift Shopping Centre and at least 60 shops in Centrale Mall.

The area has been named the third greenest borough of London due to the 2,600 acres of green space. Croydon offers a wide range of sports and recreational activities including two full championship golf courses, seven 8-hole courses, pitch and putt courses and driving ranges. Sailing and canoeing are also available at the South Norwood Country Park.

From East Croydon train station, commuters can be at London Victoria in just 16 minutes. Gatwick airport is also just 16 minutes away or for a day at the seaside Brighton takes just over half an hour. For travelling around South London, the Tramlink is the UK’s number one tramway carrying 22 million passengers a year.

Prices for a two-bedroom apartment at The King’s Tower start from £215,000.

For more information and prices please contact our selling agent Streets Ahead Tel: 020 8655 1300

Fairview New Homes has launched the final phase of their riverside development, Connection II in Canterbury, Kent. The 15 new one and two-bedroom apartments are the last new homes for sale on this popular development of apartments and houses set in landscaped gardens and grounds.

Jim Holliday, Sales Director of Fairview New Homes, comments: “The first phase of Connection was highly successful and we sold all 150 properties without difficulty. The new homes attracted first time buyers in particular, due to Connection II’s enviable location close to the town centre, the coast and the train station for journeys to London. As there are only a few apartments for sale within this phase, we expect them to go quickly. Any interested buyers should contact our selling agent, Connells, as soon as possible for more information.”

Connection II is ideally located for commuters; it is just a few minutes’ walk from both Canterbury West and Canterbury East train stations, with a journey time to London St Pancras from 56 minutes.

“Since the opening of the fast link train to London at the end of 2009, Canterbury has attracted more residents who commute into London daily. The improved transport links, along with the city’s historical and cultural connections, have ensured that property prices in Canterbury have remained stable,” concludes Mr Holliday.

Connection II is ideally located for Canterbury town centre, being just a moment’s walk away from the coffee shops, traditional tea houses, gourmet restaurants, and contemporary bars the city has to offer. The nearby King’s Mile is Canterbury’s shopping district with over 100 high street shops and boutiques.

Residents will never be bored with the broad variety of attractions available in the city and beyond. The nearby beaches of Herne Bay and Whitstable make day trips to the seaside easily viable and the surrounding Kent countryside is perfect for walking, cycling and horse riding.

Trips to Europe are also within easy reach, whether by ferry from Dover or Folkestone, or by Eurostar from Ashford – just a 30 minute drive away.

The homes at Connection include fully fitted kitchens with dark granite effect worktops, stainless steel ovens and semi integrated washer/dryers. Bathrooms feature white sanitary ware with chrome plated fittings. All of the two-bedroom apartments also benefit from an ensuite bathroom in the master-bedroom. There is only 1 one-bedroom apartment.

Prices at Connection II start from £174,995 for a two-bedroom apartment.

For further information on Connection II in Canterbury, please contact our selling agent, Connells, on 01227 764720 or visit www.fairview.co.uk to register interest.

greenacres, a new development of 56 affordable apartments and houses at the Berkeley Homes flagship edenbrook development in Fleet, Hampshire, is being launched through Thames Valley Housing. These homes are available through the New Build HomeBuy part-buy, part-rent government-led initiative which helps people step onto the property ladder.

The official launch will be held on Saturday 18th September at the Hart Leisure Centre on Hitches Lane in Fleet, GU51 5HS. Representatives from the Thames Valley team will be there all day to answer any questions on greenacres and New Build HomeBuy.

The new homes at greenacres have the exceptional benefit of backing onto a new 84 acre country park with a variety of diverse environments, from woodland to meadowland and wetland with ponds and streams, all connected by a network of footpaths and cycle ways. Other features include an amphitheatre that will host outdoor events throughout the year.

Niki Turner, Assistant Director (Sales & Marketing) for Thames Valley Housing, comments: “Fleet has recently been voted the fifth best place to live in the UK[1] and Thames Valley Housing is pleased to be working with Hart District Council to provide such excellent quality new affordable homes in the area to those that may not otherwise be able to step onto the property ladder. All the residents of greenacres will have direct access to the beautiful country park and every home will benefit from the award winning designs and specifications.”

The properties at greenacres will include one and two-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom houses. Each home will have carpets and flooring throughout, high quality integrated kitchens with a fridge/freezer and washer/dryer and allocated parking. Some apartments will have private balconies. Energy will be supplied by centralized Biomass technology, which is designed for maximum efficiency to keep the energy bills low.

edenbrook is the culmination of a unique vision from award-winning architects John Thompson & Partners, the local authority and Berkeley Homes. The homes are inspired by the American arts and craft movement which gives them their ‘New England’ style. The high-quality build and design of the properties have been proven to stand the test of time whilst having a contemporary look and feel.

Though in a rural location, greenacres is only 1.5 miles from Fleet town centre, which offers a wide choice of leisure and retail facilities including a traditional high street, a covered shopping centre and three supermarkets close to hand. Fleet station just over a mile from edenbrook with direct trains to London Waterloo in under 40 minutes, while the M3 (Junction 4a) is only three miles away.

Prices at greenacres start from £47,250 for a 30% share in a one-bedroom apartment priced at £157,500.

All the properties at greenacres are available through the New Build HomeBuy part-buy, part-rent government-led initiative, aimed at helping first time buyers, and those looking for help to buy their own home, get on the property ladder. To apply for this scheme, purchasers need to have an annual household income of between £18,000 and £60,000 and work or live within the Hart district. Interested applicants can register with their local HomeBuy Agent.

For more information on greenacres or other HomeBuy schemes, please contact the Thames Valley Housing HomeBuy team on 0844 470 4645 or email sales@tvha.co.uk. Please visit www.homebuy4u.co.uk

Fairview New Homes is offering a year’s season ticket travel from Ashford to London to every purchaser of a home at Evolution, a new development of family homes and apartments in Ashford, Kent.

This offer takes advantage of the shortened commute time to the capital via the high speed bullet train from Ashford International to London St Pancras in just 38 minutes. Since the opening of the bullet train last year, Ashford has become a viable location for many London commuters and an ideal choice for those looking to purchase an excellent value new home.

Jim Holliday, Sales Director of Fairview New Homes, comments: “Residents of Evolution can be in the centre of London more quickly than some people living in the suburbs of the capital. To demonstrate the ease and pleasure of using the new trains, we are giving away a year’s free season ticket for travel from Ashford to London to new homebuyers. Commuting to the capital has never been easier.

“For many, buying a home in Greater London is very difficult, with property prices averaging at £406,608,” continues Mr. Holliday. “Buying in Ashford is a substantially cheaper option, with average property prices at £242,205[1]. At Evolution, homebuyers can purchase a four-bedroom house from just £196,995,” he concludes.

Evolution is just a 15 minute walk from Ashford International station. Trains from this station regularly depart for London St Pancras, Paris, Brussels, Lille and Disneyland Paris.

There are one and two-bedroom apartments as well as three- and four-bedroom houses available at Evolution, all set around peaceful landscaped gardens.

The stylish new properties will have open-plan living areas and fully-fitted kitchens with fan ovens, electric hobs and washer-dryers. Each house and apartment is built with the environment in mind, with heating and hot water provided by a condensing boiler and a renewable energy system (houses only), and minimum 75% energy efficient light fittings.

Along with being an historic market town, Ashford is a thriving shopping area, with County Square shopping centre, and a popular designer outlet situated just a 10 minute walk from Evolution. The central Stour Leisure Centre has undergone a multi-million pound redevelopment and provides the community with a superb sports centre, gym and pool facilities.

Ashford is one of the government’s key growth areas, with an estimated £2.5 billion development strategy in place, and plans are afoot to create 28,000 new jobs in the area. The scheme is rapidly creating a town centre that will combine modern shopping malls and pedestrianised streets with first-class leisure facilities and popular cultural attractions.

Prices for new homes at Evolution start from £126,995 for a two-bedroom apartment and £196,995 for a four-bedroom house.

For more information and prices please contact the marketing suite Tel: 0800 883 8149

Or visit: www.fairview.co.uk. The marketing suite is open seven days a week from 10am to 5pm.

Despite the estimated average age of first time buyers now at 38, Misha Verrall, an accounts assistant for Wysegroup in High Wycombe, has stepped onto the property ladder at just 21 years of age. She bought a 25% share of her new two-bedroom apartment at Living at Wycombe Mead in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, through the New Build HomeBuy part-buy part-rent scheme offered by Thames Valley Housing.

“I wanted to move out of my parents’ house as I was working full-time and ready to have my own space,” says Misha. “A few of my friends had already bought their own properties and I wanted the same independence.”

“I couldn’t afford to buy on the open market so I considered shared ownership and Thames Valley Housing was recommended to me by a friend. When I found out they were selling apartments at Wycombe Mead, I was very excited because it has been such a highly anticipated development.”

Misha continues, “I was really impressed by the amount of space available when I visited the show apartment. I never thought I would’ve been able to live somewhere like this on my budget!”

Misha bought a share of a two-bedroom apartment off plan on the first floor for £43,750 and hopes to ‘staircase’ on her property in the future. She financed her mortgage through her own savings, plus a little help from her family.

“My new home has a balcony overlooking what will be landscaped gardens surrounding the development. Having two bedrooms is ideal for friends and family to stay over, plus I’ll have loads of space for studying as I am starting my ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians) studies in December. I should be moving in September and cannot wait!” concludes Misha.

Living at Wycombe Mead in High Wycombe is a development of two-bedroom apartments built by St James Homes.

The new apartments will be part of a larger community, which, when completed, will have six acres of well-landscaped public gardens with the River Wye and one of its tributary streams flowing through the development.

The picturesque landscape will be complemented by the high quality and excellent design of the apartments themselves. Each new home will include integrated kitchen appliances, Alno kitchen units and glass splash backs, an energy efficient boiler with less than 10% carbon emissions, audio entry systems and carpet and ceramic tiles. There is also one allocated parking for every home and many plots have balconies.

High Wycombe is a market town of history and character that has a popular food market on the High Street on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The centre of town is just a ten minute drive away from Living at Wycombe Mead, and new bus links and cycle paths will be added for residents.

The adjacent retail park has a variety of restaurants, a local pharmacy and a Fitness First gym. The new Eden Centre in the town centre has shops, a multiplex cinema, library and bowling alley.

High Wycombe is surrounded by the beautiful Chiltern Hills which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – ideal for outdoor leisure pursuits.

High Wycombe is located on the Chiltern Line with a regular direct service to London Marylebone station. The main station is 2km from Wycombe Mead and the peak journey time to London is approximately 40 minutes. An extensive bus and coach network complements the road and rail links connecting the town with neighboring counties and towns.

Prices at Living at Wycombe Mead start from £45,000 for a 25% share in a two-bedroom apartment priced at £180,000.

All the properties at Living at Wycombe Mead are available through the New Build HomeBuy part-buy, part-rent government-led initiative, aimed at helping first time buyers, and those looking for help to buy their own home, get on the property ladder. To apply for this scheme, purchasers need to have an annual household income of between £18,000 and £60,000, work or live within Wycombe District and can register with their local HomeBuy Agent.

For more information on Living at Wycombe Mead or other HomeBuy schemes, please contact the Thames Valley Housing HomeBuy team on Tel: 0844 470 4645 or email sales@tvha.co.uk or visit www.tvha-wycombemead.co.uk

Fairview New Homes has responded to changing customer needs by building suitable houses for the modern-day family. The new homes at Vision in High Wycombe provide both a separate playroom and study, meaning that all family members can enjoy their own space under the same roof.

According to research carried out by Fairview New Homes, no comparable new build properties in High Wycombe have a playroom area, nor do comparable second hand units currently on the market. Only a handful of the same properties have separate studies.[1]

“The trends for homes over the past decade or so have favoured open plan living, but realistically this is not what families want,” say Jim Holliday, Sales Director of Fairview New Homes. “It is difficult for an adult or older child to concentrate on work when the washing machine in the kitchen is making lots of noise or the younger children are playing nearby.”

“After extensive research in the area, we have decided that this model for the family home is the most suited to our customers’ needs,” concludes Mr Holliday.

High Wycombe town centre, only a ten minute drive away, has its own individual market town charm with a wide range of good restaurants, cafes and shopping facilities. There is a popular food market on the High Street on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and the new Eden Centre has shops, a multiplex cinema, library and bowling alley.
